Applying Boolean Set Operations

Select an object.

Click Button-Toolbar-Boolean-Merge.gif (924 bytes) and then a second object to merge the two objects. This differs from a union in that it does not create any new faces or points, but simply creates a single object from the two. Also, all material information is retained.

Click Button-Toolbar-Boolean-Union.gif (929 bytes) and then a second object to create a new object from the union of the two objects.

Click Button-Toolbar-Boolean-Intersection.gif (930 bytes) and then a second object to create a new object from the intersection of the two objects.

Click Button-Toolbar-Boolean-Subtraction.gif (934 bytes) and then a second object to subtract the first from the second.

Click Button-Toolbar-Boolean-Blend.gif (935 bytes) and then a second object to blend the two objects. This can be a time consuming task.

Click Button-Toolbar-Boolean-Bridge.gif (941 bytes) and then a second object to create a single object with a bridge between the two objects. Options are available for the bridge effect by right-clicking. This can be a time consuming task.

It is also useful to triangulate objects prior to Boolean set operations if an object has been deformed, point edited or face edited. This will result in faster and more accurate results.
